Mini-review: The Mummy – Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

The Mummy movies have always had one foot in action and one in parody, and the third in the series is no different. As usual the actors act like they know they’re in an Indiana Jones type of movie, and therefore do and say what’s expected of them. Expect some cool action scenes, decent fight scenes, some horrid jokes and goofy fun for children of all ages. A guilty pleasure as always.

Mini-review: One Missed Call

Okay remake of a decent Japanese horror movie. Some goodlooking students gets mysterious phone calls, see some scary Slipknot fans and gets brutally killed with a piece of candy in their mouth. Harder on the action and poorer on the sneaking suspense than the Japanese original, and there truly has been one or two horror movies too many about cell phones. Whoever plays the female lead is especially underwhelming.

Mini-review: Knocked Up

Holy pregnancy, Batman, a romantic comedy that actually is both funny and charming! The script is good and Seth Rogan is excellent, but Katherine Heigl is a tad too sweet for my teeth.
